Originated in Hunting Park, California, by M.E. Nowels. Introduced in 1940. Fruit is an odd color of green. Light bulb pear shape with many bumps that are much lighter green over darker green background. Skin is medium thin. Less frost tolerance than Fuerte. Season is from Oct. to Jan. Considered one of the better tasting January avocado at South Coast Field Station.
